Week of 9/8/12 - 9/12/14

Hello fantastic families of Lane Middle School! I have received all of your contact information and added your email address to my parent list. Each week, I will send out an updated email regarding the Learning Targets we will cover in Math class. I will also provide information about homework, and general information about our Math class. In Math we are starting our first unit of study Prime Time! Students will focus on the following for the two to three weeks and by the end students will be able to complete the following: Learning Targets: 6.NS.B- I can find common factors and multiples. I can solve problems with: Greatest Common Factor (GCF), and Least Common Multiple (LCM). I can apply my knowledge to: Find the GCF of two whole numbers less than or equal to 100, and find the LCM of two whole numbers less than or equal to 12. For the week of 9/8/12 – 9/12/14 Students will begin with a review of prime and composite numbers. Then later in the week, students will begin to find the greatest common factor (GCF) and least common multiple (LCM). Homework will be given two days this week (Wednesday and Thursday).
